How to Convert Audio Only AVI to WAV

AVI (Advanced Video Interleave) is a media format developed by Microsoft. It contains both audio and video in a multimedia container that allows you to play them separately. WAV, on the other hand, is an uncompressed audio format that maintains high quality, but keeps files relatively large. You can rip AVI audio and convert it to WAV format. This simple process allows you to upload the converted audio to portable players, audio applications and more

Step 1

  • Download and install a free converter and encoder program such as Super C (see Resources). Super C allows you to convert AVI audio to WAV format.
Step 2

  • Launch the program when the installation is complete. Drag your AVI file into the source window on the lower part of the screen. As an alternative, right-click the source window and click "Add multimedia files." Locate the AVI you want to convert from the output folder on your computer and click "Open" to load it to your program.
Step 3

  • Select "WAV" on the "Output container" window and select 48k audio under "Options." Select two channels for a balanced left and right playback.

Step 4

  • Click "Encode" once you are done customizing the output file. When the conversion is complete, the file will be in WAV audio format.
